Our Commitment
Floors Market is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We take this seriously for a practical reason as well as a principled one: a good share of our customers are older homeowners in communities like Sun City Center and Kings Point, and we build flooring around mobility every week. It would be inconsistent to then hand them a website they cannot use.
Standard We Aim For
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard generally referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act for public-facing websites.
What We Have Done
- Every page uses proper heading structure and landmark regions.
- All content is reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- A “skip to content” link is the first item on every page.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text and interface colors are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
- Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel viewport, and the layout supports zoom to 200%.
- Form fields have real labels, and errors are announced rather than shown by color alone.
- Motion is reduced automatically for visitors whose device requests it.
- Phone numbers are real links so they can be activated without typing.
Known Limitations
We are honest about the gaps rather than claiming perfection:
- Some photographs of completed work carry a small watermark that is decorative and not described in alt text.
- Our comparison tables scroll horizontally on very narrow screens.
